Network Security Services
Security is inherently an important business issue for global organisations who communicate between corporate sites and branch offices in various worldwide locations. Network Security Service (NSS) is an extension of the IP VPN Secure, Global Frame Relay and IP VPN Internet services, which are the building blocks for creating secure virtual private networks (VPNs). NSS provides end-to-end (Cisco CPE-based) security using the IPSec encryption with digital certificates. NSS is an on-Net Managed Encryption Service utilising our privately owned backbone; because we own and fully manage the network, we can deliver performance superior to unmanaged networks.
NSS for IP VPN and Global Frame Relay
Virtual Private Network (VPN) services, such as IP VPN and Global Frame Relay services, are an alternative to the traditional WAN, which use leased lines to build the connectivity between locations. The IP VPN and Global Frame Relay services are two network services offering different service feature options, providing private communications between VPN members by controlling access and separating traffic paths. For some companies, however, a higher level of security is necessary due to the sensitivity of user or application data. For these companies, highly secure encrypted communication can be provided by the addition of NSS to these services.
NSS for IVPN
Internet VPNs (IVPNs) are VPNs using our Internet network that combine the reach and the high performance of the Tier 1 backbone with encryption technologies. They are an alternative wide area network (WAN) infrastructure that extends the classic WAN by replacing or augmenting existing private networks, such as those that utilise leased lines, Frame Relay or private IP services to connect offices. Secure, scalable and reliable site-to-site IVPNs are best constructed using NSS in combination with the IP VPN Internet Service.
