Premises Firewall Service (PFS) is a fully managed customer premises-based firewall solution, which can be used to protect the customer site when combined with many of our connectivity offerings. PFS is a firewall solution that we, install, configure and manage on the customers' premises to successfully stop security breaches and respond to security incidents. PFS provides the necessary isolation between a customers' internal network and an external network. For example, a customers' internal network could be the corporate intranet, and an external network could be the public Internet. PFS is a fully managed perimeter security solution for customers who wish to provide Internet and/or even private Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity to their office locations.

The Premises Firewall Service can be used across BT's network or across the Public Internet; both private and public connectivity is supported. The service uses the world leading Check Point Firewall-1 software running on purpose built Nokia hardware with a hardened OS that have been built specifically for the firewall market.
